As stated in other posts my transmission has a joke for a filter. I have thought about adding an external spin on filter, but have heard the 4EAT transmission is sensitive to line pressure and an external filter could lower it significantly and cause issues. Any 4EAT experts out there that can. A few thousand miles ago I did a drain and fill on my Dad's 2002 4EAT WRX. I also replaced the spin-on filter. I measured what I drained and filled the exact amount back in. I thought I would check the fluid level (with the transmission up to temp, 6-8 mile stop and go driving) and it looked to be low.
